Hancocks relaunches Kingsway brand

Posted on 28th July, 2014

With own-label confectionery continuing to grow as shoppers look for great value treats, Hancocks is in the process of totally re-launching its long established Kingsway brand to bring it bang up to date. A fresh, new logo and vibrant, re-designed packaging will roll out over the coming months whilst new product ranges are also promised.

Originally established to offer retailers a consistent quality and better value range of bulk pick and mix sweets, Kingsway’s many hundreds of weighout sweets have historically provided quality and popular products to sweet retailers, enabling them to maximise the margin potential of their pick and mix display.

As the 52 year old Kingsway brand evolved yet further over the last decade or so, sweet jars, children’s sweets, chocolate bars and seasonal confectionery have joined the own label range and created some fantastic opportunities for retailers and confectionery businesses.

A recently launched range of bulk confectionery to sport the refreshed Kingsway image is Chocolate Clusters – tasty, bite-size chocolate pieces containing delicious combinations of ingredients. Available to buy in bulk 2kg boxes, varieties include:

  • White Chocolate and Coconut Macaroon
  • Milk Chocolate Muesli
  • Milk Chocolate Peanut
  • White Chocolate and Cranberry Muesli
  • Milk Chocolate and Coconut Macaroon

With a recommended retail price of 85p per 100g, margins of 40% are achievable for these products.

Another innovative product that has been unveiled at the start of the Kingsway relaunch is the Kingsway Lolly Stand.

An eye-catching yet compact display stand used to market our 25p Kingsway lolly range, the 500mm high wooden stand can house 136 lollies and is perfect for the counter top or within a children’s sweet display.

Hancocks is selling the Kingsway Lolly Tree as part of a ‘free stock;’ package, meaning that once you have sold your initial stock of lollies, you’ll have paid back your original investment. The 136 lollies return £34 when sold at 25p RRP.

Six varieties of lollies are supplied amongst the initial stock: USA Cola, Very Berry, Sour Cherry, Bubblegum, Sherbert Lemon and Tropical. These and many other flavours are available to buy from the cash and carries and online, when you come to replenish your lolly tree.

With new, exclusive products and creative display options available to sweet retailers UK-wide, the Kingsway rebrand sees Hancocks continuing to innovate and expand its already vast product range, truly benefiting wholesale customers.
