How to Increase Your Confectionery Margins This Halloween in 4 Easy Steps

Halloween is one of the most important seasons of the year for confectionery, with everyone from children to adults looking forward to celebrating this occasion by dressing up and have fun with their loved ones. It is also a date that should be marked in every clever retailer’s calendar as an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the ‘trick or treat’ tradition and increase their margins using Halloween-themed confectionery.

How you ask? It’s simple. By following these 4 steps.

1. Stock up in time

Although most of your customers will buy the Halloween sweets closer to the date and they make excellent impulse purchases, it’s good to have your display set up in advance. This way they’ll know that they can come into your store and buy what they need when the right time comes. Also, it can work as a source of inspiration for some of your customers who may not have chosen their Halloween party theme yet.

2. Make sure you have a varied range of sweets

There are so many Halloween sweets that you can choose from now, starting with Kingsway Jelly Bats, Jelly Filled Skulls and the classical Dracula Teeth through to more novelty lines such as our brand new Flashing Eyes Dracula Head and many more. By having more types of sweets you can cater to a larger audience and help your customers fill their party bags with what they want. Make sure you browse our website to see our full range of great value Halloween confectionery.

3. Attract your customers’ attention with our NEW licenced Ghostbuster range

Halloween is one of the best seasons to offer novelty on-theme treats and here at Hancocks we have developed a brand new range of Ghostbuster confectionery products specifically for the spooky season! Everything from Stay Puft Spread and Mini Mallows, through to jelly pops, proton beam laces, witches fingers and many more. Check out the full range here. Offering the retailer excellent margins of up to 49% and over 10 £1 lines. Look out in depot and online for the new range!

4. Create a Halloween-inspired Display

Instead of having your Halloween sweets spread across the shop, it’s best to arrange them together and create an original display that includes only Halloween-themed products. Don’t forget to embellish it with some scary decorations (black paper bats, ghosts, skeletons and so on) and if you’re also showcasing our Ghostbuster range, you can use these products as your centrepiece.

These are just a few tips on how you can improve your store this Halloween. Make sure to visit our website or one of our 20 Cash and Carry depots to see everything we have to offer for this fantastic season.
