Trick or Treat Season Approaching!

Posted on 9th September, 2013

As summer draws to a close we look forward to some fun autumn events that are on the horizon. Halloween is becoming an increasingly popular time of year with both children and adults, looking for a chance to enjoy some spooky fun and tasty treats as winter approaches.

This year at Hancocks, we have developed some new Halloween themed confectionery whilst we showcase many big selling favourites for the season, ensuring that retailers of all sizes can maximise the potential of such an important opportunity for the confectionery industry.

Hancocks’ key Halloween themed confectionery items include Monsters Mate Glow Pops, Halloween Rock Jelly Pops, Halloween Light Jelly Pops, Monster Mates Skeleton and more. Retailers should also consider stocking a range of products that suit a Halloween themed display even though they can be purchased all year around. Toxic Waste, Brain Licker, Pick and Mix Jelly bats, Fizzy Fangs, Giant Spiders and Giant Rats would be ideal for shoppers to use at Halloween parties and give away to trick or treaters, whilst any remaining stock can continue to sell after Halloween without looking out of place.

Convenience retailers should ensure they tailor their range of Halloween confectionery to suit their local shoppers; impulse purchases are common at Halloween with many customers leaving it to the last minute to buy treats for trick or treaters. Strong attractive displays are essential to catch the customers’ eyes and secure that impulse buy.  At Hancocks we recommend retailers’ displays include products with a range of price points to appeal to all customers, whether it is children buying deliciously scary treats with their pocket money or adults buying treats for their family.

We would recommend that retailers create a Halloween display from early October at the latest so that customers are aware of what you have to offer. Furthermore, ensure that you display plenty of stock right up until the day to catch those last minute buyers.
